ELMSWOOD HOUSING PROJECT BENEFICIARIES ALLOCATED STANDS

The Municipality of Marondera has commenced allocating the Elmswood Housing Project stands to beneficiaries who made the required payments. Council is carrying out the allocation in phases to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their stands. COUNCIL EMPLOYEES SIGN INTEGRITY PLEDGES

Council staff, management and councillors recently signed integrity pledges as a sign of commitment to avert and curb corruption. Prior to the signing of the integrity pledges the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) officials sensitised Council staff on the significance of integrity pledges and the importance attached to combatting corruption, especially within the public sector. The ZACC Chairperson, Mr M. Reza, presided over the integrity signing ceremony. Following the integrity pledge signing ceremony ZACC provided the Council’s Integrity Committee with training on enhancing integrity and curbing corruption within Council operations....

COUNCIL COMMISSIONS NEW PLANT & EQUIPMENT

The Municipality of Marondera just commissioned plant and equipment worth over USD 2,9million USD. The equipment comprising various earth-moving equipment, utility vehicles and emergency response vehicles was commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Hon. Daniel Garwe during the historic commissioning ceremony, The iconic commissioning ceremony was attended by the Honourable Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Dr A Munzverengwi (Sen.), the Mayor of the Municipality of Marondera, Cllr.C.Murova, Councillors, the Town Clerk, Mr R.D Nyamuzihwa, Council Management, Staff, residents and esteemed stakeholders. The commissioned equipment was acquired as part of Council's recapitalization program geared towards improving service delivery in sync with the NDS1 blueprint, the Call to Action: No Compromise to Service Delivery that is a conduit to the attainment of Vision 2030 as espoused by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa. The newly acquired service delivery equipment is expected to improve service delivery across WASH, Governance and Administration, Social Services, Public Safety and Security, Roads and Natural Resources and Conservation programs. ...

COUNCIL TARS TEN ADDITIONAL ROADS

The Municipality of Marondera's Engineering department recently completed the tarring of Dhimba Avenue, Field Way, Ruzawi West 1, Ruzawi West 2, Rusununguko Avenue, Manyame Crescent, Mwendamberi Way, Rukodzi Street, Route 467 Chitepo Extension and Route 469 Chitepo Extension. This initiative is expected to enhance the roads' trafficability and ease congestion. This development is expected to bring significant relief to the motoring public. Some of the tarred roads are in new residential areas and this is expected to improve access and aid the ongoing construction works taking place there.....
